What Can You Expect from the Initial Evaluation & Process?

known as the diagnostic clinical interview.  We get to know in more detail how you would like our help, what symptoms you or your child are experiencing, and we ask questions to make sure we are covering all our bases.

1. Schedule an initial visit

give recommendations on the next step.  This can include either therapy, an evaluation, or sometimes both.  If an evaluation is recommended, the doctor will give you a price quote and you can determine if you want to proceed with testing.

2. Develop a treatment plan

we explain the process, estimate how many sessions are recommended to start, answer any questions you have, and then get you scheduled for your next visit.

3. If starting therapy

your doctor will give you a price quote, explain what the testing includes, and then schedule (or you can take time to think about it).

4. Undergoing an evaluation

after the initial diagnostic interview

Our licensed psychologists personally conduct every part of the testing process, including assessments, report writing, and a one-hour feedback session to review results in person. Psychological testing may be reimbursable through out-of-network benefits, but coverage varies by provider.

🔹 Educational Testing (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia) is not covered by insurance, as these are not considered medical conditions under most plans.

During the initial diagnostic interview, the psychologist assesses testing needs and required hours. If you agree to the plan, testing sessions are scheduled at the next available date.

1. Evaluation & Scheduling

After testing, you will receive a comprehensive written report within three weeks, followed by a session to review results, recommendations, and next steps.

2. Results & Follow-Up
